Meet The Parents At Karen's Cockapoos

Who Are We?

We are a family breeder producing first-generation cockapoos. We have only one female AKC cocker that we breed, Lady. Lady's 2008 litter of pups came from a breeding to Partiman, a toy poodle owned by the president of the North American Cockapoo Registry. For her last litter and future litters, Lady will be mated to Tramp, our AKC apricot toy poodle, to create first-generation cockapoos. Prior to Lady and Tramp joining our family, we bred second-generation cockapoos out of Daisy and Shadow (both first-generation cockapoos). You can see some of their puppies on this Web site.

This (above) is Lady, a 25-lb. AKC cocker spaniel. She is our mama dog. For her first litter, she was bred to Partiman, an AKC toy poodle, owned by the president of the North American Cockapoo Registry (photo available). For current and future litters, she will be bred to Tramp, an AKC toy poodle, pictured below. See pictures of a number of Lady and Tramp's puppies on our "Past Puppies" page! These three photos (above) are of Tramp, our 11-lb. apricot AKC toy poodle. He will be the papa of our future litters. Crossing an AKC cocker spaniel like Lady with an AKC poodle (toy or miniature) like Tramp (who is a toy) produces a first-generation cockapoo puppy. Crossing two first-generation cockapoo adults (like Daisy and Shadow below) results in second-generation cockapoo pups. There is no advantage or disadvantage in purchasing one generation over another in your puppy. The key to choosing the right puppy is choosing the right genetics (thus the right parents), the right breeder, and the pup that has the right personality to best fit into your family. At Karen's Cockapoos, we take our breeding program very seriously. We start with an AKC cocker and an AKC poodle - that way, we know for sure what we are mixing and what the resultant pups should be like. Our dogs have fabulous personalities, get along well with each other, and L-O-V-E kids. We make sure to socialize our puppies with our other dogs, cats, and children of all ages before they come to you so that they are familiar with a wide range of living situations and are comfortable and able to make a smooth transition from our home to yours.

This (above) is Daisy, our original mama dog. She is a first-generation cockapoo out of AKC cocker/poodle parents. She is no longer breeding, but is, as always, our beloved pet.

And this (left) is Shadow, our original stud dog. Shadow is a first-generation cockapoo and was a fine stud and proud papa! Shadow has been retired from breeding and was recently placed in a pet home with a loving couple who enjoy frequent visits from their adult chldren and grandchildren.

About Our Dogs

Our dogs live at home with us and our three children, ages 8, 11 and 14, so they are well socialized with kids and their puppies will be too!

Our dogs are very healthy and receive regular veterinary care. The pups will be seen by our veterinarian when they are three days old to have their tails docked and dew claws removed, and will be seen again for a health exam, three de-wormings and shots before they leave us at eight weeks old. We will deliver to you a healthy puppy, current on shots and de-wormings, with a one-year health guarantee.

We don't let pups leave until they are well established with eating food - eight weeks of age is the best time for them join their new families. We will ship, weather permitting. Email us for details, please.
